Both the AMU Famous Gate Bab-e-Syed and Amu Centennial Gates have a long and beautiful history. AMU Centenary Gate
Since the University’s founding, it has experienced a great deal of change and reached significant developmental milestones. In 1920, it adopted the name Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). With success in every area, AMU Famous Gate AMU achieved another landmark by closing the Centenary gate to signify the institution’s 100 years as Aligarh Muslim University. On the holy day of October 17, 2020, the gate was virtually opened by Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, chancellor of the university, in honour of Sir Syed on his birthday. The esteemed Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, attended the centennial ceremony on December 22 as the chief guest. The institute received the PM’s sincere congratulations for each of these things as well as for its ability to effectively serve society even under COVID-19 conditions. He compared the university to a little version of India and expressed his admiration for AMU’s commitment to diversity by valuing the contribution of Urdu, Hindi, Arabic, and Sanskrit.
The Purani Chungi neighbourhood is close to where the Centenary gate was built. The gate, which is considerably larger than the Bab-e-Syed gate at AMU, is composed of red sandstone. Its structure is carefully sculpted, evoking and maintaining the essence of older structures with Islamic architectural styles. The gate is very significant since it provides access to all the departments, beginning with the Commerce department and Minto Circle School and continuing with all the other buildings that make up the institution. AMU at BAB E SYED GATE
Aligarh Muslim University’s historical landmark is Bab-e-Syed gate. The gate is the major entrance for the general public to the university and connects to all of the faculties, departments, guest homes, Maulana Azad Library (the main library), etc. Red and white sandstone are used in its construction. Its arches are cupped. A large gate in the centre of the entire construction is flanked by two more, identical short heightened AMU Famous Gate gates. This lattice work is being constructed on the parapet of the main gate. The left and right sides of the main-medial gate have two enormous miners hooked to it, and they are chattering. Similar to this, two little miners are attached to each of the entrance gates separately.
